They collect videos. They save posts. They wait until they feel ready, and the first real attempt never happens.
Fear of starting stops more people than anything on the chart.
The fear is of starting, not of trading
What stops them is not the difficulty of the material. It is the moment of doing something for the first time.
That moment is the whole obstacle, and it is over in a day.

That is the whole of it. It is not dramatic, and it is the thing most people skip.
